Covered Geomembrane Leak Location Testing

Designed to locate holes through any covered liner. Cover can include gravel, soil, clay or water (in fact any electrically conductive material).  Mobile survey results can be logged to produce colour contour plots to be included in a post survey report. Survey sensitivity decreases with increasing cover thickness. Materials above and below the membrane must be electrically conductive and have sufficient moisture content.  All our covered surveys are conducted in accordance with current Environment Agency guidelines and international ASTM standards.  Applications include landfill construction, reservoirs, ponds, lakes and lagoons, reed beds, farm slurry lagoons and bund liners.

Designed to locate holes in any non-covered liner. Depending on survey conditions high voltage testing or water puddle surveying techniques are used. Very sensitive test results are achieved with holes less than 1mm in diameter able to be located with ease. Materials below the membrane must be conductive and any wrinkles removed or minimised.  Applications include slurry lagoons, reservoirs, ponds, leach pads and lined tanks such a anaerobic digester tanks. 

Validation of the installation and integrity testing of gas protection membranes is an important step in the management of hazardous gas on many brownfield developments. Our membrane verification testing regime includes site visits, visual inspection, seam strength testing, membrane integrity testing and reporting. With the use of our high voltage testing equipment we are able to locate holes less than 1mm in diameter. All testing is in accordance with international ASTM standards and the latest guidance including BS 8485 and CIRIA 735.
